Disneyland: Day Two

Day 2 was Sidney's birthday. She turned 6! We were so bummed to learn that a huge rainstorm was coming through. California is having a big drought, so of course they needed it, but what are the chances we would choose the week the biggest rainstorm in over a decade decided to come through? It's ok though, it made the crowds crazy small. We were walking right onto every ride. At first when I was struggling with 3 kids, trying to balance umbrellas, wet ponchos, and bulky coats by myself, I wanted to just give up and go home. But once we figured it out and Josh showed up, it was a great day.

We started the morning with Sidney opening her gifts at the hotel. She is so sweet, and we loved seeing the excitement on her face.
This girl is obsessed with stuffed animals.
We surprised the kids with a character meal for breakfast. We have never done one before, and I'm so glad we did. It was so much fun. It kept us out of the rain for a while, and the kids always love a buffet.

Tanner is offering Mary Poppins his sausage. Such a gentleman.

Peter Pan was great. He was PERFECT for the part. I wish he could have spent the day with us.

Captain Hook was a lot of fun too. My mom told him he was her favorite, and he really liked that.

Star Tours was a hit, especially with Jayden. He probably went on it at least five times during the week.

This is on It's a Small World. Tanner was so tired here, but he loved this ride.
Train ride. We did all we could to get out of the rain. It really didn't stop for one second all day.

Anytime one of us would pose for a picture, Tanner would get in on it too.
The rain did not phase him. He was soaked to his diaper, but he continued to splash in puddles any chance he got.
He loved the bus rides.

I love, love, love her pirate face.

Tanner played with these twirly light up things for about 20 minutes.
Sidney got to choose a special birthday treat since we didn't have a cake for her.

She chose a cute marshmallow pop.

We spent the afternoon at the hotel, then went back for the night. So glad we did, it was one of the most magical nights there.
