Spies

Going through some pictures I found this little gem.  They were pretending to be spies and spying on me.  What they didn't realize was that I was spying on them too, peeking over the couch to see what they were doing when their backs were turned.  I caught Jayden telling Sidney to put her arm around him.  I had them re-create it so I could get this funny picture.

Fulfilling Dreams

I decided that 2012 will be a year of fulfilling dreams.  It started when we took the kid's ice skating for the first time right after New Year's.  They have been wanting to go for the longest time, so we have been able to fulfill that dream of theirs.  They both LOVED it!  Sidney cried every time she had to get off the ice.  Ever since she read one of the Pinkalicious books where she goes ice skating, she has been talking about it.  We also have a few things in store for the year that we are looking forward to that are other dreams we have had.  I'm trying to have a positive outlook on the year, so here goes!

Sidney was a pro and so cute in her little skates.  The kids wanted to have nothing to do with me on the ice after my disastrous attempts at helping them.  It's been about 10 years since I set foot on the ice.  I used to go all the time, but it's definitely not like riding a bike for me.  Josh is a great skater and was great with helping the kids.

Jayden did great too.  Bigger coat next time!

All Grown Up

Sidney and Jayden had a sleepover every night during Christmas break.  We were more lenient with bedtime, but on the last couple of nights we were trying to get them back on schedule.  They went to bed at 7:30, but at 8:45 they were still awake.  Josh went upstairs to tell them to go to sleep.  It went like this.

Josh:  Go to sleep, kids.

Sidney:  But, but, but....We were talking about Jesus!  He's nice.

Jayden: Yeah, I was teaching her the first Article of Faith!.

For church Sidney really wanted to get dressed up.  I got her all ready with her jewelry and then left her room.  A minute later Josh went to get her, but she said, "Wait, I'm still getting ready!"  I can't believe she has moved up to a Sunbeam already.  She's going to have to learn to hold her own being the youngest and with a huge class of mostly boys.  She was so sad to go, it was hard to leave her in there crying.
