Kathryn's Part 2/Travel Week

Travel Week started out with a drive up to Jackson, Wyoming. Such a pretty drive, the weather was a perfect 75 degrees, and we had a great day in the mountains.

We arrived at lunch time, so we found a little park and had lunch and then played for awhile.
We walked around town, saw the antler arches, and browsed some shops. Sidney loves flowers and took a ton of pictures of them. Tanner was really into the antlers.

The kids were impressed with the stage coach. Next time we hope to be able to spend more time in town and doing more activities.
The kids loved this store. They were taking pictures of every little thing. Here they're acting scared of the bear.
We got some ice cream at a cute little place.
There was a spot that had all these statues of famous people, and the kids wanted pictures with all of them.
This is a little manger scene in front of a really old church.
We didn't have time to go into Grand Teton National Park. We'll have to save it for later. But we wanted to get a good view of the mountains. It is so pretty here, and so peaceful. Sidney is my little photographer.

Overlook on the drive home.
We took a different route home so we could see this giant potato. The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever, until they realized it wasn't real, and then they got mad. They got over it soon enough and had fun looking around.

We decided to stay an extra night because my mom came into town early, so we were able to spend a day with her. That night we had a fire and s'mores. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. The picture didn't turn out anything like it though. There was no yellow in the sky, it was all deep pinks, purples, and blues. Perfect night.
The next day we hit the road for home. I guess we have a tradition to keep Tanner happy with ice cream, and he makes a huge mess. My kids are all becoming great road trippers. We had two days at home to clean up and pack up and get ready to fly out to Charlotte. So with a road trip to Jackson, back to Boise, and a flight to Charlotte, we hit up 4 states in a week. Totally counts for Travel Week. Our week at Kathryn's was absolutely perfect. The kids were so happy all week, and being with my sister made being without Josh a little easier. It was SO hard to drive away. But I'm so happy we were able to have a year in Boise and to create such great memories as a family.
