Boo Blast

There are not enough days in October.  There are so many fun things we want to do, but don't have enough time to do them.  We squeezed in a visit to Carowind's Boo Blast where we enjoyed a hay bale maze, trick-or-treating, a talking pumpkin, Halloween jokes, and pumpkins.

Sidney wanted the smallest pumpkin she could find.
And Jayden wanted the biggest.
I love pumpkins.
This truck had bubbles coming out of it.

T.P.

Who knew toilet paper could be so much fun?  At one point Jayden exclaimed, "I forgot all about toys, I'm having so much fun!"

Family Pictures

My friend, Katie, took some family pictures for us.  I've got a few friends here who love photography like I do, so we've been practicing on each other.  It's been a lot of fun, and she came out with some great photos!  There were a lot, so here are just a few.  My kids were being pretty crazy most of the time.  I'm surprised we got as many as we did.
I don't know why a couple of these are sideways.  Sorry, just turn your head.
She appropriately named this 'chaos'.
At one point the kids started pretending to be zombies.  And it wasn't Jayden who started it.

Somewhere Pretty

I took Sidney out for a fun little photo shoot.  She has been asking to go somewhere pretty for weeks, so we took a little walk through a peach orchard.  She said it was pretty, but there were no flowers.  Not quite what she had in mind.  So I still owe her somewhere pretty.

Just Us

Since Jayden has been in school, Sidney and I have had a lot of one on one time together.  I have really been enjoying it.  She has become a lot more talkative, and I love being able to focus on just her.  First thing in the morning, even before breakfast, she likes to color with me.  Then we cuddle up and read books together for a while.  It's really cute to hear her read a book in her own words.  She gets the general story right if it's one she's heard before, but if it's new to her, listening to her make up the words is a delight.  One of her favorite things to do is to do makeovers.  So if we have nowhere to go, I'll let her do my makeup and then I'll do hers.  She usually starts out fairly conservative, but I end up with about 4 lipsticks smeared across my face and big blobs of black eyeliner on my eyelids.  You can't tell too well in this picture, but I have way too much lipstick on my face.  We are having so much fun together.
She usually loves to take pictures with me, but not on this particular day.
She thinks it's so funny to set the timer and make a funny face.  So she tells me to make a funny face, and when I do, she simply says, "Funny face!"
