Caverns

There are some caverns near San Antonio we wanted to explore, so we took a day and drove up and back. We must have timed it wrong because Tanner cried and cried through the first hour of the hour and 15 minute guided tour. Our apologies to the rest of the group, but there is no exit 200 feet underground. Despite that, it was really cool, we've never done anything like that.

Blue Bonnets

Texas is famous for wildflowers, particularly blue bonnets. We drove out of town a little bit to find some. If you drive up toward Brenham they are all over, but we found a small patch on the side of the road. Sidney is my little model, so I have ten times more of her. And Tanner has no opinion yet, so sorry, Jayden.

Blue Bell Factory

A few kids from Sidney's preschool class got together to visit the Blue Bell ice cream factory. With Texas wildflowers blooming right now, it was a pretty drive. It's located in Brenham, a darling little town I'd love to explore more. It started out with a wait in a little museum area. The tour was fun, but they don't allow pictures. Sidney has been obsessed with the show "How It's Made" lately, and so it was pretty exciting to get to see something like it in real life. It was actually pretty incredible to learn about the process. Random facts: In one day they use the milk of 60,000 cows to make the ice cream, and all the cows are within 200 miles of the factory. That blows my mind. They also make 56 flavors, plus other ice cream treats. I had no idea, you don't see that many at the store. Each store orders what sells best, so if you are dying for a flavor, they said to ask your grocer. They're also the original creators of cookies and cream ice cream. Who knew? They used to use Oreos, but now bake their own cookies. There are also some flavors that are regional, Blue Bell is only sold in 22 states, but they do use it at Outback Steakhouse nationwide. We walked by a break room, and there was a table full of all you can eat ice cream. They get to eat as much as they want every day. Sign me up!

At the end of the tour you get a complimentary scoop if ice cream. I wish I had taken more pictures of the place, it was an adorable old-timey parlor. Sidney kills me, she's too adorable.

Tannerisms

Tanner loves to dance. It's like he just can't not dance when he hears music. He must think the blender is music, because he dances to the blender. So cute.
