Sidneyisms

"Winners make their own decisions so I choose to be a winner."

"I wish we could make pancakes in the shape of your grandma." She said this after I got back from my grandma's funeral. She was trying to comfort me, so sweet.

"Tanner can play with my toys and I'm not going to get mad because I'm a changed girl."

Jayden fixed his hair in a new way. She said, "Jayden, I think girls will be attracted to you now."

Life With Tanner

I put him down for a nap and then got in the shower. When I got out I could hear the TV turned up really, really loud. I went in his room and he had found the remote, turned on the TV and found some cartoons, then turned the volume as loud as it could go and was just propped up in bed all comfy. His eyes were huge and he looked a little bit in shock.

 

Other shenanigans:

 

Jumping on the bed saying, "No. Monkey. Bed."

 

Rubbing string cheese as fast as he can on the coffee table.

He can climb onto the kitchen counters and one night I was making dinner, and he found some marshmallows and started eating them.

 

Throwing colored pencils all over the room. In fact, throwing everything in sight all over the apartment.

 

Dumping dirt on the carpet.

 

Coloring on the walls because he's mad at me.

 

Eating cookies in bed.

 

Marching around with a tortilla on his head.

 

Dropping pretzels on the floor then stomping on them.

 

Eats Jell-O with his bare hands.

 

Stepped on my toe so hard it bled. That was an accident.

 

Brought two yogurts into the living room and was eating both at the same time, with both spoons in his mouth at the same time.

Shutting my bedroom door, going into the bathroom and shutting that door to get my makeup out, then hiding by the side of the bed to put it on. When I washed it off he cried and cried.

We've been going hiking in the mornings after we drop the kids off at school. He leads the way, and cries and cries when we have to go home. He could live in the woods, he loves it so much. 

 

He grabbed the lettuce off the counter and went to town. 

 

 

Getting the last bit of popcorn. 

Mouthful of grapes. 

He woke up from a nap and came into my room where I was also napping. He laid next to me and tossed and turned for a few minutes until he made himself comfortable like this. Perfect. 

Took one look at his dinner, walked straight to the pantry and took out a box of spaghetti then dumped it on the floor. Took handfuls and tried to eat it. Then threw handfuls all over the house. 

Climbed in the dryer when I walked away for a minute. 

You'd think he would crash at the end of every day, but he's always jumping on the bed, doing somersaults, or running in circles right up until bedtime. Except here, but he's trying to go to bed in our bed instead of his own.



School 2015

Jayden: 4th Grade, age 9

Sidney: 1st Grade, age 6

 

This move has been really hard. The kids were devastated to be moving again, and to be changing schools again. This is the 4th school Jayden has attended and the 2nd for Sidney and depending on where we end up getting a house, they'll more than likely change again. So nerves were high, but they're adjusting well. Sidney spent a lot of time planning her outfits for the week.

Tanner wanted in on the pictures too. 

After we dropped the kids off at school Tanner spent the morning like this. 

When we walked out the door Tanner remembered we had taken pictures, so he wanted his picture taken again.

After school ice cream. 

Mississippi

In August the kids and I took a road trip to Mississippi to visit Jake and Lana. We spent a few days enjoying their company, playing with Coal, and getting a VIP tour of Jake's fire station. The kids love that dog.

 

 

 

They got to spray the hose and go soaked.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We brought cupcakes.
