Disneyland Countdown

Our plan was to go to Disneyland next year, but we ended up going this year so my mom could go with us. To tell the kids we were going, we did a treasure hunt.

Halfway through the hunt one of the clues led them to the 4-wheeler.

Final destination

We always like to do a countdown. It was pretty much like last time, except each day had a small activity to do, like read Disney books, read about Disneyland secrets and facts, or make a treat.

Pinterest Projects

For years I have been wanting to work on some bigger projects that I have seen on Pinterest. But since our moving schedule has always been unknown, I've put them off. So now I've finally been able to get some done. Can't say I want to pick up another paint brush for a while though. Sidney needed a new bed, and we found a good deal on this bunk bed on Craig's List, so we figured an extra place to sleep wouldn't hurt for future visitors. It was covered in marker, crayons, and stickers, but with a bucket of paint, it's looks pretty good now. Just don't look too closely.
I also painted her dresser to match. I'm debating putting something on the doors to make it cuter. Don't mind the mess. I gave up trying to remember to take pictures when the room was clean.
We also bought the book shelf on Craig's List. She really wanted it to be pink. I also have a chair for her desk I'm going to paint pink and recover to match.
I have really wanted something cute to put up Christmas cards on, instead of just taping them to the door, so I came up with this. I saw something on Pinterest that was close to what I wanted, but I like mine better. It just sat on the floor this year, but hopefully Josh and I are going to make an entry way table soon, and next year it will have a proper place to sit. And I'm not sure if less people are sending out cards, or if we moved and no one has our address, but where are the cards people? I might need to add on to it next year, it's almost too small.

Random

Since I'm so far behind, here's another random bunch of pictures.

Tanner is still obsessed with shoes. He wears them about 90% of the time.

He also loves blankets lately.

One day we were waiting for Jayden after school and Sidney laid upside down and said that this helped her think better.
I took this picture with my phone, so of course it doesn't do it justice, but I'm loving the sunsets here. Almost every night we get a gorgeous show, and when the clouds are thick, it's breathtaking. The colors were almost to bright and vivid to look at. The clouds looked like they were on fire.

Sidney was pushing Tanner around like this for about an hour.
He was trying to drink the animal crackers. This kid makes us laugh every day.
Dance class.
Tanner watching dance class, notice the shoes.

Parade

Sidney's dance studio participated in the Boise Holiday Parade. She was excited to ride on a float, but when we got there and saw it was just a trailer being pulled by a truck, she was a little disappointed. We've come a long way from the bigger cities, and had to laugh when one group was pushing shopping carts. I get it was for the Salvation Army, but it was still funny. For being a decent size city, it's a far cry from other big city parades we've been to. I'm not sure how much she enjoyed sitting on the float, but I think next year we'll just go and watch.

Snow Days

The kids have been loving have snow. We even had a day off of school because of the snow. We got about 9 inches in 2 days back in November. It melted in a week though, so not really that big of a deal.

They were so excited that they hurried outside before school to play in it on the first day.

They were helping to shovel snow and Sidney wanted to listen to the opening song from Frozen as they were breaking ice.
