Heart Walk

Josh has been calling this month "Septembeard."  His work has been doing a fundraiser for the American Heart Association this month and to raise awareness, they grew beards.  We took part in the Heart Walk yesterday.  The kids had fun.  We just did the one mile route, but the kids did awesome.  Sidney only wanted to be carried for a few minutes and Jayden walked the whole way.  Jayden wants to do it again next year.

Singapore

In August Josh went to Singapore for a week for work.  Because of 24 hours of travel, a time change of 12 hours, and long works hours while he was there, he didn't really get to do any sightseeing.  He was exhausted while he was there, and came home and pretty much slept for 2 days straight.  He managed to get out one night and take some pictures where he was staying.  He might be going again in a couple of months, so if he does I hope he gets a chance to see more.  He brought Jayden back a cool t-shirt and Sidney a cute little pink Asian outfit.  Here are a few pictures he took.  He didn't even get one of himself in it.  Next time he needs to bring me along so I can take some for him.  Singapore is a tiny country.  It's only about 30 miles wide, but it's really advanced and quite wealthy.
This building is pretty crazy.  It has three skyscrapers lined up with what looks like a really long ship sitting on top of them.

The Little Things

I feel like over the last several months my blog has become kind of blah.  I haven't been recording the day to day things nearly as much as I used to.  Like when Jayden gets out of bed at night a thousand times with some excuse that he needs something, and I get frustrated, but then before he heads back to bed, he gives me as many hugs as he can and tells me he loves me.  Or when Sidney is sick and she comes to me and says she needs a cuddle or she needs a hug, or how she wakes up scared at night because of a bad dream and she wants daddy.  Or when we are at the library and Jayden sees a book about a new baby in the family and wants to get it for Sidney because the girl on the cover looks mad.  Or when Sidney wants to make crowns and we wear them all morning and she calls me "queen" instead of mom.  Or when Josh stays up all night with a sick child so I can get some sleep, or runs to the store after a long day at work even though he's just as tired as I am, and then brings home Ben & Jerry's.  Or feeling the baby kick, reminding me that despite the seemingly never ending nausea and discomfort, it's all for a purpose, and will be worth it.  I do love this little family of mine and I have really missed recording the little things.  The kids love reading back through all of the funny things they do.  I really want to get back on track.

I've only got a few more months of my Sidney time.  It makes me a little sad, but I'm excited to see her in her new role as a big sister.  (A little worried, she still isn't happy it's a boy.)  She is a sweetie and a stinker, and she talks my ear off all day long.  She is my little helper around the house, my drama queen, my girly girl, and my cuddle bug.  She is always coming up with things for us to do.  Today we were cleaning out some closets and found some baskets so she wanted to have a picnic in the backyard.  I dusted off the camera and after taking a ton of pictures of her she started rolling her eyes and sighing, telling me it was enough.  Those eyes have been rolling at me way too much lately, is she 13?

See those rolling eyes?  Seriously a drama queen.

And Jayden always makes us laugh.  They need to stop growing up.

Preschool

This little lady started preschool last week.  We are doing the church group this year like we did with Jayden.  She was all excited for it until the morning of, but once she was there she had fun and didn't want to come home.
And I'm throwing this one in because on the first day of dance I took some pictures before we left.  So now every time we get ready to go she opens the front door so I'll take pictures of her.  She wouldn't take no for an answer yesterday, but now I'm glad she insisted.  How cute is she?

Wilmington

Last weekend we made a spontaneous trip to the beach.  We hadn't been in forever, and since we had a boring stay at home summer we decided to go. My sister used to live in Wilmington and has been telling me we need to go, so we finally got around to it. The downtown is really cute and old. We played for hours on the beach, but when I pulled out the camera I discovered the battery was dead.  So no pictures, but that's ok.  Sometimes it's nice not to think about it and just enjoy being there.  Josh took the kids out in the big waves, we took a long walk, built sand castles, hunted for shells, and Sidney and I buried treasure for each other.  It was a really fun day.  That night we walked down the downtown riverwalk.  Jayden thought that part was boring until we found some anchors to play on.  It was a great weekend, I'm ready for more.
