We decided to drive down to Disneyland, and we did it in a day. It took us about 15 hours, but it wasn't too bad. We took a back way to cut down on time, but we had no idea how back of a way it was until we were well into the drive. There was literally nowhere we could have stopped and stayed if we had wanted to between here and Vegas, and that was over 10 hours, so by that point there was no reason to stop.
Ready to hit the road!
Random pictures from the drive.
We made a pit stop and there was a little historical site for the Pony Express. Behind Sidney you can see a post office they used. Josh told us he has an ancestor who used to ride for the Pony Express, kind of a fun fact.
We really enjoyed the drive. The mountains were gorgeous. We drove through pretty much no civilization, it was really peaceful and we enjoyed a lovely sunset.
The kids thought Vegas was pretty neat.
The drive back was great too. Our car died in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully we had three people take the time to give us a jump and we were on our way.
I can't remember where we were here, I think it was outside of Vegas. There is an air force base, and we saw a bunch of military planes. I took some pictures, and now I know how easy it is to fake a UFO sighting.
