Christmas

We had a pretty low key Christmas this year. Actually, I think we always do.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve it started to snow. We hadn't had any snow for a month, so it was really magical. 

 

A few other Christmas festivities.

 

I went to Sidney's school party. It was the first party I've made it to, and she cried most of the time. First it was because I was helping with one of the centers and I couldn't stay with her, then she didn't like the elf name I gave her, and then she was upset Tanner was playing the games. Tanner had a blast.

 

Josh had two work dinners. It's always nice to have a night out.

This year we set the timer to take pictures for our card. We kept putting it off, and when I finally set a date, it snowed 9 inches. I had no idea it was going to melt in a week, so we did it anyway. So we froze our tails off in 25 degrees, took 9 pictures, and called it good. This was the best we could do. 



Christmas Tree Hunt

We chose to get a tree permit and go to the forest and chop down our tree. Epic fail. We got a map that showed us where it's allowed. So one day we drove to a spot to find a tree. By this point it was halfway through the month and we really needed a tree. While driving along Sidney perfectly said what we were all thinking, "This isn't what I thought it would be. I thought there would be trees." We were staring at bare hillsides. As we drove further we finally saw some trees, but they were across the valley. No way were we getting across, so we said forget it, enjoyed the view, and went home. We did see a whole bunch of elk on the other side.

So then the next day we drove to a different place. This time there were trees, but all the spots that we were able to cut down a tree were steep slopes. So we drove for a couple hours before we found a place. By then it was almost dark and it was 20 degrees and we were freezing. We stopped at 3 places before we found a tree. And then the tree ended up being awful. It was missing half its branches. And when we got it home it looked even worse, so we went and bought a tree at a lot. Tanner's 2nd Birthday

Tanner is such a fun little boy. He is CRAZY at times, a lot of times, but he is funny and cute and we love him to pieces. He says several words. One day I was making cookies. I had no idea he could say cookie, but he was begging me to pick him up to see them sitting on the stove. When I picked him up he said very enthusiastically, "MMMMMM! COOKIE!" Clear as day, it was hilarious. He loves Mickey Mouse, blankets, popcorn, fruit, sucking the toothpaste off of his toothbrush, coloring, shoes, throwing things, but mostly he loves balls. Any kind of ball, and he has a pretty good arm. He is a speed demon, he is just so FAST!

 

He was so cute while I was taking these pictures. I stood him in front of this board, and after I took a picture he would run over to look at it, then run back and stand for another picture. He did this over and over.

 

We had the perfect low key birthday for him. We ordered pizza. He only likes the crust. 

He loved opening presents, it was hilarious to watch. 

 

I have no idea what he's doing. 

He managed to lick the cake at least 2 or 3 times. 

 

 

He did not want Jayden in his face. He tried to bite him. 

 

I guess he didn't like it, he had one bite and then ran to play with his new toys. 

 

Oh wait, he licked it again. 

 

The best we could get. Love this baby boy of mine. Hard to believe he's only been around for 2 years, I can barely remember not having him in our life.
