I finished a dress for Sidney. She wuvs it. She picked out the fabric. She picked out two fabrics that didn't match, but when I pointed out that the polka dots were like Minnie Mouse, she decided that was ok. I think the dress turned out ok. It's never exactly like the picture, and this was the biggest pain of a sewing project. I was ready to throw it out a few times, but seeing Sidney twirling around in it made it all worth it.
Enjoy the little things for one day you will look back and realize they were big things

Jaydenism & Sidneyism
Jayden-
Last night's question that was so important Jayden had to get out of bed to ask:
"When can I get my own cell phone?"
From a 5 year old? Really??
Sidney-
She's really sweet. Like, really sweet. She melts our hearts on a daily basis when she gives us big hugs, puts her head on our shoulders, and says, "I wuv you." Over and over and over. She's even so sweet when we read books she hugs it and says things like, "I wuv dinosaurs," or, "I wuv Minnie." And so on. She says she loves all kinds of strange things. But the best was when we were driving home from church and she started saying, "I wuv my poop!" And when that got a laugh out of me she laughed and started shouting it the entire way home. Then this morning at the store she started shouting it again. Lovely.
I was trying to get her into the car and said, "Come here, my little girl." I put her in the carseat and she smiled at me and said, "My little mommy."

Hail-tastic!
Saturday night we were finishing up dinner when it started to hail. Normal hail. It wasn't a big deal so we opened up our front door to watch. Within a couple of minutes it was getting bigger. And it just kept getting bigger and bigger. It was insane. The hail stones were smashing into the ground and breaking into pieces and flying all over the place. Later when we watched the news they said it was falling at 120 mph! The hail we got was golf ball size, but other places nearby got up to baseball size. It was nuts. It looked like there were snowballs covering the ground. When it started to die down the kids gathered them up and they're now sitting in our freezer, for what purpose, I'm not sure.
Normal size hail:
Craziness. It came down in probably under 10 minutes.
She wasn't scared.
They filled up 2 or 3 of these bowls. The kids thought it was the coolest thing that has ever happened. Jayden kept yelling, "Oh my GOSH! Oh my GOSH!" And, "This is HAIL-TASTIC!"
Josh lived up to this shirt by running out in the hail to gather it for the kids.
As you can tell, this is one of the most exciting things that has happened around here in a while.
Jaydenisms
Almost every night, after we have put Jayden to bed, he comes downstairs. And every night the conversation goes like this:
Us: What are you doing up? Go to bed.
J: But I have a question.
Us: What?
J: Um........
Us: Go to bed.
J: But, I have a question.
Us: No you don't, go to bed.
J: (Makes up some random, totally un-important question or statement.)
But last night's question made me turn my back on him so he couldn't see my laughter. He's at that age where he's really sincere in wanting to know the answer, because, well, he really just doesn't know the answer. So with the most genuine curiosity, he asked, "Are Chinese people real, or fake?" We then had a short conversation about how Chinese people are indeed real, which totally blew his mind. I think he thought they were like Leprechauns or the the Easter Bunny, where he's not entirely sure if they're real or not. We also explained his Aunt Lana is part Chinese, which was really confusing to him. "Why doesn't she speak Chinese?" And then he started asking all these crazy questions about what state we live in, or at least that's what we thought what he was asking. So we said South Carolina. No, that's not what he meant. He said something like, "No, the place where there's that squiggle." And then he got down on the floor, balancing on one foot and hand, babbling on with all this crazy talk. I still have no idea what he was talking about.

So Much Pink
The girl will only wear pink. There's a gray shirt in this pile, but that only lasted a few minutes before she took it off and put it in her hamper. It's worth it to get her all pink clothes now to not have to listen to 30 minutes of crying when I make her wear yellow or purple or anything else. She's usually decked out in a pink shirt, pink pants, pink socks, and pink shoes. It's quite ridiculous.
As I was taking pitcures of her clothes, she lined up her shoes (some that are too small that still sit on her closet floor). It's a struggle to get her into most of her shoes besides her princess sandals, and forget the brown ones. It's really too bad she likes pink so much because I am always eyeing non-pink fabric and outfits at the store. She was even posing for me, something she's been a stinker about lately. And the only reason she's wearing blue shorts here is because they have pink flowers on them. Otherwise it would be a whole other story. Who knew a 2 year old could be so picky about clothes?

Sidneyisms & Videos
The other day Josh and I were upstairs. We heard Sidney climbing up the stairs while singing, Where oh where did mommy go?, at the top of her lungs. To the tune of Where oh Where has my Little Dog Gone? It was the funniest thing, so I got her to sing it a little on tape. She's been singing it a lot since.
I have another video that won't upload, but I'll work on it because it's my favorite song she sings.
Her other Sidneyism: I was helping her say a prayer and told her to say, Please help us to be nice. I was peeking at her and she opened her eyes wide, pointed her finger at me, and said, "NO! Jayden be nice!!!"
